Power, lighting, HVAC, and plumbing systems make life in your van comfortable. Galleys, cabinetry, beds, and showers bring the comforts of home to the open road. However, if not installed properly, these amenities could create dangerous, even life-threatening, hazards while driving and camping. Consumers need to be aware of builds that look fine on the surface but have underlying issues that could develop over time. Poor design, faulty installation, cheap home construction materials, and subpar knock-off components contribute to this. Heavy, unbalanced builds can lead to poor driving performance, and faulty wiring and power installations could lead to fires. Cabinetry not structurally integrated and capable of withstanding heavy loads may disassemble under harsh driving conditions.

As certified Mercedes Benz expert fitters, we follow Mercedes safety benchmarks throughout our builds and improve upon these in many areas. These standards address structural integrity, electrical systems, gas systems, fire safety, ventilation, and more. We never make modifications that would void the factory warranty in any way. Compliance with these standards is crucial to ensure that our camper vans are safe and reliable for travel and living purposes, ensuring the well-being of our customers and others on the road.

Why choose a Camper Van over an oversized RV? For starters, camper vans are much easier to deploy, set up, and maintain, resulting in more use. Compared to RVs, camper vans are more maneuverable, safer, and easier to drive, especially in urban areas and congested campgrounds. Parking a Sprinter 144 is as easy as parking a car, and you can actually drive and park a Van in the city! Their versatility allows for easier access to metropolitan areas one day and off-grid locations the next, which would be challenging for larger RVs. The Sprinter and Transit Trail vans are super capable, particularly when fitted with upgraded suspension, opening up even more opportunities to explore remote nooks and crannies in our country’s vast wilderness.

Camper vans are generally more fuel-efficient, resulting in cost savings over long road trips and extending your reach into uncharted areas! The battery systems in our vehicles charge while you drive and can last for days in the wild. With solar panels and clear skies, there is no limit! You can also power up and charge via any 120v outlet, unlike most RVs, which require 220v connections.

Modern RV parks have excellent facilities, making the need for onboard fixed showers and toilets less of an issue, though our custom builds have this option. There are also many new and fantastic exterior showers and portable toilet options, which open up space in your van and work great at the campsite.
